MFHB introduces new faces of Barbados Fashion Runways (part 1)



Shanice Prince is 22 years old an intelligent and determined young lady currently employed as a laboratory technician. She recently obtained a BSc. Chemistry from the University of the West Indies and besides being part of the fashion industry her desire is to pursue a career in Medicinal Chemistry.




Kira de Reus is a 14 year old secondary school student. From an early age she developed her sense of self, headlining in her school pantomime and performed a total of 22 shows over a 4 week period at age 10. Her current passions are doing hair, makeup and nails, her services and that of her business partner are much in demand among their peers. She has done a few print advertisements in the Caribbean.



Anna de Reus is a 13 year old secondary school student. She is also a student of the violin. She has a great love for animals and has volunteered many hours of service at the RSPCA Barbados. She has made several appearances in school pantomimes since the age of seven and has performed in violin shows for the past 6 years. Anna has done local and regional ad print campaigns.



Ashley Nash is a 15 year old student at Combermere School. She plans to pursue a career in fashion design, modelling, and also has a keen interest in forensic science. At Primary School she played the violin, guitar and piano, and was also encouraged to show off her vocal talent.


During her time at Combermere School, she has represented the school in many clubs and organisations including: Hockey, Art, Earth Helpers, Track and Field, Cadets, Drama and the former Agriculture Club


Her Fashion & Runway inspiration was Tyra Banks so by 11 she begun learning to sew and sketch her own designs. Her goal is to have her own fashion line by the age



Thea Semple is 17 and currently pursuing her Bachelors in nursing at the Barbados Community College. After placing 1st runner up in her first pageant Miss Springer 2014, she developed a love for “The Runway” she went on to compete in Miss Teen Barbados 2015 where she placed second runner up where love for everything fashion grew. MFHB ’15 was her first official Runway Show and having taken so naturally to this first experience we know she is destined for “big things!”

MFHB 2016

Music Fashion Hair Barbados (MFHB) extends heart felt thanks for those who and attended and supported our vision of creating the first Music Fashion Hair Barbados ​​event in Barbados at Spago Restaurant, Sugar Hill, St. James with the industry’s leading Caribbean and international professionals in music, fashion and hair. The event was a huge success.

MFHB ’16 is again set to be the ultimate fashion experience featuring some of the popular names from the Caribbean, US, and UK showcasing their music, fashion collections and hairstyles exclusively for MFHB.

MFHB ’16 will reveal the latest talked-about seasonal trends and indispensable style tips. As this is Barbados’ 50th year of Independence we will be celebrating with a special prize which will include a trip overseas to help the winner see what’s going on internationally in their industry!

New to MFHB ’16 – Pop-Up shop on 25th November following the runway show night. The Pop-Up will feature our MFHB ’16 designers offering many pieces on sale for exclusive insider prices. You wouldn’t want to miss out on the shopping opportunity of the season!
