Shakad Designer Wear is an emerging quintessential luxury lifestyle brand which specialises in Caribbean inspired fashion and accessories. Established by Shanika Burnett in 2008 the focus of the brand is on delivering an experience of elegant fashion fused with the glamour of the elite lifestyle, set in exclusive tropical destinations around the region. Designs embody the epitome of contemporary style and design concepts and are each individually dyed by Ayissa Textile Designs using traditional textile techniques to exhibit the exotic colours, textures and rhythm of the region and its people. The brand is dedicated to promoting green; products are made using blends of the finest quality 100% natural fibres, such as silks, linens and exotic cottons. The brand is also committed to providing impeccable craftsmanship and paying acute attention to detail to ensure exceptional quality.
The luxury resort line is generally targeted to high end fashion forward consumers who have a penchant for the Caribbean and other ethnic aesthetics, luxurious style and sophistication, while the line of “Destination Wedding” gowns and other wedding related attire and accessories target non-traditional and often trend-setting couples.
